WANT TO JOIN ME IN MY NEW MEDITATION PRACTICE? Make CDC-approved cotton masks in place of using a mala as you count breaths, do mantras or say prayers. Very easy to do, and the ultimate in multi-tasking to benefit others spiritually and practically in a way that could save lives. Handstitching works just like a mala to do mantras — or you can say prayers as you sew on a sewing machine.
Finished masks can go to friends and family, local hospitals and nursing homes, or in a free basket at the local grocery for neighbors who need them. The Navajo nation has been devastated by Coronavirus, and they have requested homemade masks so they can distribute them to their vulnerable elderly population. If everyone had two, they could wash one while wearing the other, and they'd always have a clean one. Any seniors with sewing skills who are on lockdown, this would be a great project.
Masks for the Navajo Nation can be mailed here:

If you are unsure of how to do mindfulness or mantra practice while you stitch, please contact me with your questions. And please stay healthy! And please pass this on to friends who sew or do meditation practice.
With deep bows to The Turban Project and Deaconess Hospital in Indiana for seeding the idea.
Do this to transform personal suffering into big-time compassion.
